- 1 tablespoon lemon zest

- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing it.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter and 1/2 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add in the all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon of salt, stirring until a dough forms.
- Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for about 20 minutes or until light golden brown.
- While the crust bakes, whisk together the eggs, 1 cup of granulated sugar, lemon zest, lemon juice, and 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder in a separate bowl.
- After the crust has pre-baked, pour the lemon filling over it, spreading it evenly.
- Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and cool completely on a wire rack.
- Dust the cooled bars generously with powdered sugar, cut into squares, and serve.
