Classic deviled eggs are a timeless appetizer loved by many, perfect for parties or quiet family meals.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 large eggs
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- Salt to taste
- Paprika for garnish
Instructions
- Hard boil the eggs: Start by placing the eggs in a pot. Fill the pot with enough water to cover the eggs completely. Bring the water to a boil over medium heat.
- Reduce heat and simmer: Once the water reaches a boil, reduce the heat to low and let the eggs simmer for 9-12 minutes.
- Cool the eggs: After simmering, carefully remove the eggs from the hot water and place them in cold water or ice water.
- Peel the eggs: Once the eggs are cool, gently tap them on a hard surface to crack the shell, then peel them under running water.
- Cut the eggs: After peeling, cut each egg in half lengthwise and place the egg whites on a serving plate.
- Prepare the filling: Remove yolks from the egg whites and mash them in a bowl. Mix in mayonnaise, mustard, and salt until creamy.
- Fill the egg whites: Fill each egg white with the yolk mixture using a spoon or piping bag.
- Garnish and serve: Sprinkle paprika over the filled eggs for color and flavor. Serve chilled.
