- 1½ cups fresh or frozen blueberries (do not thaw if frozen)

- ½ cup light brown sugar (packed)
- ½ cup all-purpose flour (for crumb topping)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted, for crumb topping)
- ½ cup powdered sugar (optional glaze)
- 1–2 tbsp milk or cream (optional glaze)
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract (optional glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking pan.
- Prepare the crumb topping by mixing brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon with melted butter until crumbly.
- Combine dry ingredients: whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Mix in the vanilla extract.
- Alternate adding the dry mixture and sour cream, being careful not to over-mix.
- Prepare the blueberries by tossing them with 1 tablespoon of flour.
- Fold in the blueberries gently into the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Add the crumb topping over the batter.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cake in the pan for about 20 minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature. Pairs well with coffee or tea. For a treat, top with whipped cream or ice cream.
