Description
A lighter take on the classic Philly Cheese Steak using juicy chicken, melted cheese, and sautéed vegetables for a mouthwatering meal.

- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Hoagie rolls or sandwich bread
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté sliced onions and green bell peppers for 5-7 minutes until softened.
- Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, cook the chicken breasts for 6-8 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
- Once cooked, let the chicken rest for a few minutes and then slice it into thin strips.
- Add the sliced chicken back into the skillet, add the cream cheese, and stir until melted and combined.
- Mix in the sautéed vegetables and cook together for a couple of minutes.
- Fill hoagie rolls or sandwich bread generously with the chicken mixture.
- Top with shredded provolone cheese and, if desired, bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-10 minutes until cheese melts and bread is crispy.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding garlic powder or your favorite spices. You can also customize with different cheeses or additional vegetables.
