Delightful rolls combining creamy cheesecake and fresh strawberries, perfect for brunch or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and diced
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (for strawberries)
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (for dough)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for dough)
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cream cheese filling)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Additional powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Prepare the strawberries: Combine strawberries with 2 tablespoons of sugar and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Make the dough: Mix flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter, then add milk and vanilla extract to form a soft dough.
  3. Roll the dough: Dust your surface with flour, knead the dough, and roll it out into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick.
  4. Prepare the cream cheese filling: Beat cream cheese until fluffy, then add powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Assemble the rolls: Spread the cream cheese filling over the dough, layer strawberries, roll tightly, and slice into 1-inch pieces.
  6. Prepare for baking: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C), grease a baking dish, arrange the rolls inside, and brush tops with beaten egg.
  7. Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cool and serve: Let cool for 10 minutes and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
