Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Mix together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Cut in the cold, cubed butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the heavy cream gradually and stir gently until the dough comes together.
- Knead the dough a few times on a lightly floured surface and pat it into a 1-inch thick round.
- Cut the dough into 8 wedges and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Prepare the strawberries by mixing them with powdered sugar and vanilla extract and let them sit.
- Assemble the shortcakes by splitting them in half, layering with strawberries and whipped cream, and topping with the other half.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
