Description

A delightful dessert that combines sweet, salty, and creamy flavors in perfectly balanced layers, ideal for gatherings and potlucks.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • 6 oz strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
  • 2 cups boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar in a large bowl and mix well.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13 inch pan to form a crust.
  4. Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  5. Let it cool completely.
  6. Beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth.
  7. Fold in the whipped topping until well combined.
  8. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled crust.
  9. Dissolve the strawberry gelatin in 2 cups of boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved.
  10. Stir in the sliced strawberries into the gelatin mixture.
  11. Allow it to cool slightly before pouring it over the cream cheese layer.
  12. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, until set.
  13. Cut into squares and serve chilled.

Notes

For best results, make a day ahead to allow gelatin to set properly. Garnish with fresh strawberries or whipped cream.
