Ingredients
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup hot coffee or hot water
1 1/2 cups strawberry preserves or strawberry filling
Chocolate frosting for layering and topping
Fresh strawberries for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla; mix until smooth.
4. Slowly stir in hot coffee until batter is thin and well combined.
5. Divide batter evenly between prepared pans.
6. Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
7. Cool cakes completely before assembling.
8. Spread strawberry filling over one cake layer.
9. Place second layer on top and frost the entire cake with chocolate frosting.
10. Garnish with fresh strawberries before serving.
