- 1/2 cup beef broth (homemade)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Slice the beef: Thinly slice 1 pound of flank or sirloin steak against the grain.
- Prepare the vegetables: Slice 2 cups of mixed bell peppers and 1 large onion into thin strips.
- Heat the skillet: Pour 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil into a heated skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the steak: Add the seasoned steak to the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes, until browned.
- Add onions and peppers: Toss in the sliced onions and bell peppers, cooking for another 3 minutes.
- Make the sauce: In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup soy sauce, 1/2 cup beef broth, and 1 tablespoon cornstarch.
- Combine everything: Pour the sauce over the beef and vegetables, cooking for another 2-3 minutes to thicken.
