Description

This Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak is pure comfort food magic — tender beef patties simmered in a rich onion-mushroom gravy. With these five mouthwatering secrets, you’ll get melt-in-your-mouth flavor that turns a simple dinner into a cozy classic.

Ingredients

Scale

1 1/2 lbs ground beef (85% lean)

1/3 cup breadcrumbs

1 egg

2 tbsp ketchup

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tbsp olive oil

**Gravy:**

1 medium onion, sliced

8 oz mushrooms, sliced

2 cups beef broth

2 tbsp ketchup

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

2 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for slurry)

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

2. Form into 4–6 oval patties.

3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear patties for 2 minutes per side (just to brown, not cook through).

4. Place sliced onions and mushrooms in the bottom of a slow cooker.

5. Arrange browned patties on top of the vegetables.

6. In a bowl, whisk together beef broth, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the patties.

7. Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours.

8. Remove patties and stir in cornstarch slurry to thicken the gravy.

9. Return patties to the slow cooker and let sit for 5–10 minutes before serving.

10. Serve with mashed potatoes or egg noodles.

Notes

Searing the patties before slow cooking locks in flavor.

Add a splash of red wine to the gravy for extra richness.

For a lighter version, use ground turkey or chicken.

Double the gravy — it’s too good not to!

Leftovers taste even better the next day, making this perfect for meal prep.
