A delightful dish that combines crunchy pretzels with juicy chicken and a creamy, tangy mustard-cheddar sauce.


Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup mustard
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil or cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the mustard and shredded cheddar cheese for the sauce.
  3. Prepare two shallow bowls; beat the eggs in one and mix flour with salt and pepper in the other.
  4. Coat each chicken breast in the flour mixture, then dip in the eggs, and finally roll in the crushed pretzels.
  5. Place the coated chicken breasts on a baking sheet, lightly spray with olive oil if desired.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  7. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving with the mustard-cheddar sauce on the side.

Notes

For a healthier option, use whole wheat pretzels or crushed almonds. Substitute chicken thighs for juicier meat.
