Description
This Pecan Dump Cake is pure dessert bliss — gooey, nutty, buttery, and irresistibly easy. With no mixing required, it’s the ultimate lazy baker’s dream: a warm, caramel-like treat that tastes like a cross between pecan pie and cobbler.
Ingredients
1 box yellow cake mix
2 cans (21 oz each) pecan pie filling or butter pecan cake filling (or substitute with apple pie filling + 1 cup chopped pecans)
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
1 cup chopped pecans
1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Spread the pecan pie filling evenly across the bottom of the dish.
3. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the filling — do not stir.
4. Drizzle melted butter evenly over the top, covering as much cake mix as possible.
5. Sprinkle chopped pecans and cinnamon over the surface.
6. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbling at the edges.
7. Let cool slightly before serving warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Notes
For a caramel twist, drizzle salted caramel over the top before baking.
Try adding chocolate chips or coconut flakes for extra texture.
This dessert tastes even better the next day — store leftovers covered at room temperature for up to 2 days.
