Description

Classic peanut butter cookies topped with a chocolate Hershey Kiss, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 11/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Additional granulated sugar for rolling
  • 30 unwrapped Hershey Kisses

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with silicone mats or parchment paper.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients in a small bowl: whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream the margarine and peanut butter with the sugars for about 3 to 4 minutes until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until well combined.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just combined, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed.
  6. Scoop the dough into 1-inch balls and roll them between your hands.
  7. Sugar coat each dough ball in additional granulated sugar.
  8. Place the dough balls on the baking sheets, leaving space between them.
  9. Bake for 13-14 minutes until edges are golden.
  10. Add a Hershey Kiss to each cookie immediately after baking.
  11. Cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.

Notes

For a fun twist, warm cookies slightly in the microwave for extra melty chocolate.
