Classic peanut butter cookies topped with a chocolate Hershey Kiss, perfect for any occasion.

- 1–1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Additional granulated sugar for rolling
- 30 unwrapped Hershey Kisses
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with silicone mats or parchment paper.
- Mix the dry ingredients in a small bowl: whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream the margarine and peanut butter with the sugars for about 3 to 4 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until well combined.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just combined, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed.
- Scoop the dough into 1-inch balls and roll them between your hands.
- Sugar coat each dough ball in additional granulated sugar.
- Place the dough balls on the baking sheets, leaving space between them.
- Bake for 13-14 minutes until edges are golden.
- Add a Hershey Kiss to each cookie immediately after baking.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
Notes
For a fun twist, warm cookies slightly in the microwave for extra melty chocolate.
