Description

Lemon Crumb Bars are a refreshing dessert with a bright and tangy flavor, perfectly balanced by a sweet, buttery crust.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the all-purpose flour, powdered sugar, and softened butter in a mixing bowl until crumbly.
  3. Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan and press the crumb mixture into the bottom evenly.
  4. Bake the crust for about 15 minutes until lightly golden.
  5. Whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, lemon juice, lemon zest, baking powder, and salt until smooth.
  6. Pour the lemon mixture over the hot crust and spread evenly.
  7. Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes until the filling is set.
  8. Cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
