Description
A quick and flavorful Korean Ground Beef Bowl featuring seasoned beef simmered in a sweet and spicy sauce, served over rice.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Cooked rice for serving
Instructions
- Start by heating a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook it until it’s browned, which should take about 5-7 minutes. Make sure to stir occasionally to break the beef into smaller pieces.
- Once the beef is fully cooked, drain any excess fat from the skillet.
- Now, add the minced garlic to the beef. Stir it in and cook for about 1 minute until the garlic becomes fragrant.
- Next, pour in the soy sauce, brown sugar, gochujang, and sesame oil. Stir everything together so the beef is coated with the sauce.
- Allow the mixture to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Keep stirring until the sauce thickens slightly and everything is well combined.
- Remove from heat and it’s now ready to serve!
- Serve the beef mixture over a bed of cooked rice and sprinkle the chopped green onions on top for garnish.
Notes
For extra flavor, add sesame seeds or sliced jalapeños as a garnish. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days or freeze for 2-3 months.
