Description

A quick and flavorful Korean Ground Beef Bowl featuring seasoned beef simmered in a sweet and spicy sauce, served over rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Cooked rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Start by heating a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook it until it’s browned, which should take about 5-7 minutes. Make sure to stir occasionally to break the beef into smaller pieces.
  3. Once the beef is fully cooked, drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  4. Now, add the minced garlic to the beef. Stir it in and cook for about 1 minute until the garlic becomes fragrant.
  5. Next, pour in the soy sauce, brown sugar, gochujang, and sesame oil. Stir everything together so the beef is coated with the sauce.
  6. Allow the mixture to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Keep stirring until the sauce thickens slightly and everything is well combined.
  7. Remove from heat and it’s now ready to serve!
  8. Serve the beef mixture over a bed of cooked rice and sprinkle the chopped green onions on top for garnish.

Notes

For extra flavor, add sesame seeds or sliced jalapeños as a garnish. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days or freeze for 2-3 months.
