- Mix dry ingredients: Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Create a well in the center: Make a small well in the dry mixture.
- Add buttermilk: Pour the cold buttermilk into the well created.
- Mix the dough: Stir gently until a shaggy dough forms; don’t overmix.
- Shape the dough: Turn it out onto a floured surface and shape it into a round loaf about 1.5 inches thick.
- Transfer to the baking pan: Move the loaf onto the prepared baking sheet, cut a deep ½-inch
