Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
4 oz cream cheese, softened
3 tbsp granulated sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp almond extract (optional)
1/4 cup strawberry or raspberry jam
1 egg (for egg wash)
1 tbsp milk
Powdered sugar, for dusting
Fresh berries and mint for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a small bowl, beat together cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and almond extract until smooth and creamy.
3. Unfold the puff pastry and cut into 4–6 equal squares.
4. Spoon a small amount of the cream cheese filling into the center of each square.
5. Add a small swirl or dollop of jam on top.
6. Fold two opposite corners of each pastry toward the center, pressing lightly to seal.
7. Whisk egg and milk together to make the egg wash and brush over the pastries.
8. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
9. Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar.
10. Serve warm, topped with fresh berries or mint if desired.
