Description

Flaky, creamy, and heart-meltingly delicious — this Valentine’s Day Cheese Danish is the most romantic breakfast or dessert you can bake! Buttery puff pastry filled with rich cream cheese and topped with a swirl of jam makes every bite pure love on a plate.

Ingredients

Scale

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

4 oz cream cheese, softened

3 tbsp granulated sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 tsp almond extract (optional)

1/4 cup strawberry or raspberry jam

1 egg (for egg wash)

1 tbsp milk

Powdered sugar, for dusting

Fresh berries and mint for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a small bowl, beat together cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and almond extract until smooth and creamy.

3. Unfold the puff pastry and cut into 4–6 equal squares.

4. Spoon a small amount of the cream cheese filling into the center of each square.

5. Add a small swirl or dollop of jam on top.

6. Fold two opposite corners of each pastry toward the center, pressing lightly to seal.

7. Whisk egg and milk together to make the egg wash and brush over the pastries.

8. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.

9. Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar.

10. Serve warm, topped with fresh berries or mint if desired.

Notes

Use heart-shaped cookie cutters for a romantic twist.

Mix your favorite jam flavors like cherry, raspberry, or apricot for variety.

For extra richness, drizzle with a simple icing made from powdered sugar and milk.

These pastries are perfect for breakfast in bed or a Valentine’s brunch with your special someone!
