Description

Rich, molten, and irresistibly romantic — these Chocolate Heart Lava Cakes are the ultimate indulgence. With a soft, cakey exterior and a gooey chocolate center, they’re the perfect dessert to impress your sweetheart or dinner guests.

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup unsalted butter (plus extra for greasing)

6 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped

2 large eggs

2 large egg yolks

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

Powdered sugar and berries for garnish

Heart-shaped ramekins or silicone molds

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease 4 heart-shaped ramekins and dust lightly with cocoa powder.

2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter and chocolate together in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

3. In another bowl, whisk eggs, egg yolks, sugar, vanilla, and salt until pale and thick.

4. Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture.

5. Add flour and gently stir until just combined.

6. Divide the batter evenly among the ramekins.

7. Place ramekins on a baking sheet and bake for 11–13 minutes, until edges are set but centers are soft.

8. Remove from oven and let rest for 1 minute.

9. Run a knife around the edges, then invert each cake onto a plate.

10. Dust with powdered sugar and garnish with fresh berries or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use high-quality dark chocolate (70% cacao or higher).

Add a teaspoon of espresso powder to enhance the chocolate depth.

The key is timing — slightly underbake for the perfect molten center.

Perfect for Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, or date-night desserts!
