Description

Delicious homemade chocolate peanut butter cups that satisfy any sweet craving.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips (dark or milk)
  • 1 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 23 Tbsp maple syrup or powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbsp coconut flour or almond flour (optional)
  • 1 pinch sea salt

Instructions

  1. Start by lining a mini muffin tin with paper liners. This recipe yields about 10–12 mini cups or 6 standard cups.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil.
  3. Microwave the mixture in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until the mixture is smooth and fully melted.
  4. Once melted, spoon 1–2 teaspoons of the chocolate into each liner. Use the back of the spoon to spread the chocolate slightly up the sides of each liner.
  5. Place the muffin tin in the freezer for about 5–10 minutes to let the chocolate set.
  6. In a separate bowl, stir together the peanut butter, maple syrup (or powdered sugar), sea salt, and optional flour. Mix until the mixture forms a thick and smooth paste.
  7. Take the muffin tin out of the freezer. Scoop about 1 teaspoon of the peanut butter mixture and place it onto each chilled chocolate base. Gently press down to flatten it slightly.
  8. Spoon the remaining melted chocolate over each peanut butter center, making sure to cover it completely.
  9. Gently tap the muffin tin on the counter to smooth out the tops.
  10. Return the muffin tin to the freezer for another 15–20 minutes or refrigerate for 30 minutes until the cups are firm.
  11. Once set, peel off the liners and enjoy your delicious homemade chocolate peanut butter cups!
