- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: garlic powder, paprika
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the ground beef and chopped onion in a large skillet over medium heat for about 5 to 7 minutes, until the beef is browned and the onion is soft, draining excess fat.
- In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup and milk. Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a casserole dish, followed by half of the cooked beef and onion, and half of the shredded cheese. Repeat these layers and top with cheese.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes.
- Let the casserole sit for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
