Description

A delightful twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak using ground beef, savory onions, and provolone cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 hoagie rolls
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onion and sauté until softened.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned; season with salt and pepper.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Place the cooked beef and onion mixture on the hoagie rolls.
  6. Top with shredded provolone cheese.
  7. Place the filled hoagie rolls on a baking sheet and bake for about 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve hot.

Notes

Choose ground beef with a good fat content (80/20) for more flavor. You can also toast the hoagie rolls before adding the filling for extra crunch.
