- 2 cups uncooked macaroni
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
- 2 tablespoons butter (if using breadcrumbs)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Once boiling, add the uncooked macaroni and cook according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked macaroni, shredded chicken, frozen mixed vegetables, cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, and half of the cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
- Pour the macaroni mixture into a greased 9×13 inch casserole dish, spreading it evenly.
- If using breadcrumbs, melt the butter and mix it with the breadcrumbs. Sprinkle this mixture on top of the casserole, and add the remaining cheese on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until hot and bubbly, and cheese is melted and golden.
- Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve with a fresh green salad or crusty bread. For added flavor, sprinkle fresh herbs like parsley or chives on top before serving.
