Description

A quick and flavorful Garlic Butter Shrimp Skillet that’s perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon, juiced and zested
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Start by gathering all your ingredients. Make sure shrimp are peeled and deveined, and mince the garlic. Zest and juice the lemon.
  2. Heat the Skillet: Take a large skillet and place it on medium heat. Add the unsalted butter and let it melt.
  3. Sauté the Garlic: Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for about a minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the Shrimp: Evenly spread the shrimp in the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and red pepper flakes if using. Cook for 2-3 minutes without stirring.
  5. Flip the Shrimp: After 2-3 minutes, flip the shrimp to cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add Lemon Juice and Zest: Remove the skillet from the heat and add the lemon juice and zest, stirring to coat the shrimp.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the shrimp and serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

For a richer sauce, consider adding a bit of heavy cream at the end of cooking.
