Description

A fun twist on the classic Sloppy Joe, featuring a hearty beef mixture served over crispy garlic bread.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 loaf garlic bread
  • Shredded cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven according to the garlic bread package instructions, usually around 350°F (175°C).
  2. brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until well browned, then drain excess fat.
  3. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic with the beef until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Make the sauce by stirring in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, salt, and pepper, then let simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Prepare the garlic bread according to package instructions, baking until golden and crispy, around 10-15 minutes.
  6. Assemble the Sloppy Joes by spooning the beef mixture over the toasted garlic bread and adding shredded cheese if desired.
  7. Melt the cheese by returning the garlic bread to the oven for a few minutes, watching closely.
  8. Serve and enjoy with optional toppings like pickles or chopped parsley.

Notes

For added heat, spice up the mixture with jalapeños. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
