Description

Experience the cozy comfort of Four Cheese Mushroom Toasts, where garlicky sautéed mushrooms meet a luscious blend of mozzarella, cheddar, blue cheese, and Parmesan. Perfect for brunch, lunch, or a quick dinner, this recipe turns simple ingredients into an indulgent treat that’s easy to prepare and impossible to resist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced (cremini, button, or mix)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 4 slices rustic bread (sourdough or ciabatta)

  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella

  • 1/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar

  • 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan

  • Optional: fresh thyme or chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and sauté until golden and tender, about 8–10 minutes.

  • Stir in garlic and cook for another minute. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Meanwhile, toast bread slices under the broiler for 1–2 minutes per side until crisp.

  • Pile sautéed mushrooms onto each toast slice. Top evenly with mozzarella, cheddar, blue cheese, and Parmesan.

  • Return to broiler for 2–3 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.

  • Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan when cooking mushrooms to ensure they brown instead of steam.

  • Keep a close eye under the broiler to prevent cheese from burning.

  • Substitute blue cheese with goat cheese for a milder flavor.

  • For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free bread.

  • Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in the oven for best texture.
