- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, browning and cooking through, then drain excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet, sauté for 3-5 minutes until softened.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, beef broth, elbow macaroni, Italian seasoning, and season with salt and pepper.
- Bring to a gentle boil, reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for 15-20 minutes until macaroni is tender.
- Remove from heat, sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese, and let it melt before serving.
Notes
Serve hot with garlic bread or a salad; can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
