Description

Deliciously crispy hash browns that are simple to make and perfect as a side dish for breakfast or brunch.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Peel the potatoes and remove all the skin.
  2. Shred the peeled potatoes using a grater for thin shreds.
  3. Rinse the shredded potatoes in cold water to remove excess starch.
  4. Drain and pat the shredded potatoes dry with paper towels.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Add the shredded potatoes in an even layer to the skillet.
  7. Season the potatoes with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Cook for 5-7 minutes without stirring until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Flip the hash browns with a spatula and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until crispy.
  10. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or alongside breakfast dishes.

Notes

For extra crispiness, make sure to drain the potatoes well and use enough oil in the skillet.
