Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions and drain well.
  2. Make the roux by melting butter over medium heat, stir in flour, and cook for about 1 minute.
  3. Add the milk gradually, whisking until thickened, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Incorporate the shredded cheddar cheese into the thickened milk mixture until melted.
  5. Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce, coating all the pasta.
  6. Prepare a greased baking dish and pour in the mac and cheese mixture.
  7. Add the breadcrumbs on top for a crunchy finish.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
