Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan with butter or cooking spray.
  3. Combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 tsp of baking soda, and 1/2 tsp of salt in a medium bowl.
  4. Melt 1/2 cup of butter in a large saucepan over low heat and stir in 1/2 cup of vegetable oil, 1/4 cup of water, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 1 tsp of vanilla extract.
  5. Add 2 large eggs and whisk until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  6. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  7. Fold in 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips and, if using, 1/2 cup of chopped nuts.
  8. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before cutting into squares.
