Description

Delightful oatmeal bars with warm cinnamon flavors, perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats and brown sugar.
  3. Pour in the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.
  4. Add baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt. Stir until a thick batter forms.
  5. Spread the mixture evenly in the greased baking dish.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the bars cool, then mix powdered sugar with 1-2 tablespoons of milk to make the glaze.
  8. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bars and let set.
  9. Cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
