Description

Decadent chocolate chip brioches filled with creamy vanilla custard, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup vanilla custard
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Pour warm milk into a bowl, sprinkle active dry yeast over milk and let sit for 5-10 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Stir to mix.
  3. Pour yeast mixture into dry ingredients, add eggs, and stir until a dough forms.
  4. Gradually mix in softened butter and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Cover dough and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Punch down the risen dough, divide into about 8 pieces, and shape into balls.
  8. Fill each flattened ball with a spoonful of custard and chocolate chips, seal well.
  9. Place on a baking sheet, cover loosely, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Let cool slightly on a wire rack and serve warm.

Notes

Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar. Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days or frozen for up to a month.
