- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and chopped
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla to the butter mixture; mix until fully combined.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients gently until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped cherries and dark chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are set yet centers are soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature with a glass of milk or coffee. These cookies can also be frozen for up to three months.
