Description

Delightful twist on traditional Italian calzones filled with creamy Alfredo sauce and tender shredded chicken. Perfect for any time of day!


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup Alfredo sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 package pizza dough
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface until about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Cut the dough into 6–8 inch circles.
  5. Place a generous amount of the chicken mixture on one half of each circle, leaving space around the edges.
  6. Fold the other half of the dough over the filled half and seal the edges, crimping with a fork if desired.
  7. Place the calzones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush the tops with olive oil.
  8. Make steam vents by cutting a few slits on top of each calzone.
  9. Bake for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with marinara sauce and your favorite herbs!

Notes

Use leftover rotisserie chicken for speedy preparation. Don’t overstuff to prevent spilling.
