- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup water (as needed)
- 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder. Stir them together to evenly distribute the dry ingredients.
- Incorporate the yogurt and softened butter into the flour mixture until crumbly.
- Gradually add water until the dough comes together without being too sticky. Knead until smooth for about 5 minutes.
- Cover and let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
- Prepare the filling by combining the feta, mozzarella, and parsley in a bowl.
- Roll out the dough to about 1/8-inch thick and cut into circles.
- Place a tablespoon of cheese filling on each circle and fold over to shape.
- Seal the edges and crimp them.
- Brush tops with egg wash and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Best served warm, optionally with yogurt or a dipping sauce. Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen for 2 months.
