- 1 cup sugar

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine blackberries with 1/2 cup of sugar and set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining sugar.
- Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract into the dry mix.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and top with the blackberry mixture.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and set in the middle.
- Let cool slightly and serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
For a rustic presentation, bake in a cast-iron skillet. You can also adjust sweetness based on the tartness of blackberries.
