- 1 lb chicken, boneless, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp black pepper, crushed
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 2 red chilies, sliced (optional)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp water
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken: In a bowl, toss the chicken pieces with cornstarch, salt, and crushed black pepper. Make sure each piece is well-coated.
- Heat the oil: Warm the vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
- Cook the chicken: Add the coated chicken to the hot pan. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- Stir fry the vegetables: In the same pan, add garlic, onion, bell pepper, and red chilies. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until slightly tender.
- Combine chicken and vegetables: Return the cooked chicken to the pan and stir to mix.
- Add the sauces: Pour in soy sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, and water. Mix well and let simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
- Serve hot: Dish out the stir-fry over rice or noodles and enjoy!
Notes
For extra flavor, garnish with sliced green onions or sesame seeds. Adjust spice levels according to your taste.
