- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup Biscoff cookie butter
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
Instructions
- Activate the Yeast: Combine warm milk, active dry yeast, and sugar in a bowl. Let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, and salt.
- Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Add yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg to dry ingredients. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
- Knead the Dough: Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Let the Dough Rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll Out the Dough: Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, approximately 12×16 inches.
- Spread the Cookie Butter: Evenly spread Biscoff cookie butter over the rolled-out dough.
- Add Cinnamon and Sugar: Mix ground cinnamon and brown sugar, then sprinkle over the cookie butter.
- Roll and Cut the Dough: Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 1-1.5 inch pieces.
- Prepare for Baking: Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake the Rolls: Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Make the Icing: Mix powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk until smooth.
- Drizzle Icing: Allow rolls to cool slightly before drizzling icing on top.
