Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until fully combined and smooth.
- Stir in the vanilla extract to enhance the flavor.
- Optional: Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips and mix them into the base until smooth.
- Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until cold.
- Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
- Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
