Description

A warm, hearty meal featuring tender beef tips in rich gravy served over creamy mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1½ pounds beef tips (sirloin or stew meat), cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable or olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried herbs (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Sear the beef tips in a Dutch oven with hot oil until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes each side.
  2. Cook the onion in the same pot until softened, then add garlic.
  3. Create the gravy base by adding flour and gradually whisking in beef broth.
  4. Combine the beef, Worcestershire sauce, herbs, salt, and pepper, then simmer.
  5. Simmer covered on low heat for 25-30 minutes until the beef is tender.
  6. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
  7. Serve over creamy mashed potatoes and garnish with parsley.

Notes

For added texture, serve with steamed vegetables or warm bread rolls.
