Description

A delightful and easy banana bread recipe, perfect for using up overripe bananas and a favorite among many.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup white granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 4 medium bananas
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bread baking dish.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs, sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas and whisk until combined.
  4. Combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using) in another bowl.
  5. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture gradually, stirring gently until smooth.
  6. Fold in the chopped walnuts.
  7. Pour the batter into the greased baking dish.
  8. Bake for 55-60 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  9. Cool the banana bread in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.

Notes

Serve slices plain, toasted, or with butter/cream cheese. Store in an airtight container. Lasts 3-4 days at room temperature or can be frozen.
