Description

Delightful twist on banana bread and cinnamon rolls, topped with creamy cream cheese frosting. Perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack.


Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, yeast, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Combine warm milk, melted butter, and egg in a separate bowl. Stir in mashed banana.
  4. Pour wet mixture into dry mixture and combine until a soft dough forms.
  5. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  7. Punch down the dough, roll it into a rectangle, and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
  8. Roll the dough into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  9. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  11. Bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Prepare cream cheese frosting by beating together cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
  13. Frost warm rolls with cream cheese frosting before serving.

Notes

Best served warm. For added flavor, consider adding nuts or chocolate chips to the dough.
