Description

Delicious baked apple fritters that are light, sweet, and filled with warm spices, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and sugar in a large bowl.
  3. Mix the milk, applesauce, and vanilla extract in another bowl until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in the diced apples gently.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the fritters are golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze in a small bowl.
  9. Drizzle the glaze over the warm fritters and serve immediately.

Notes
