Description

A quick, nutritious, and satisfying stir fry combining savory ground beef, tender cabbage, and crunchy carrots, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 head cabbage (shredded)
  • 2 carrots (shredded or thinly sliced)
  • 3 green onions (sliced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1.5 tbsp ginger (freshly grated)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp sriracha (plus extra for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1/2 tbsp cooking oil (grapeseed or vegetable)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Pinch salt (to taste)
  • Pinch pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, sesame oil, sriracha, brown sugar, and rice vinegar. Stir until blended and set aside.
  2. Cook the Ground Beef: Preheat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add cooking oil and heat. Add the ground beef and break apart gently. Cook for 2-3 minutes until browned.
  3. Add Aromatics: Stir in minced garlic and ginger. Cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add Vegetables: Toss in shredded cabbage and carrots. Stir and cook for 3-4 minutes until the cabbage wilts.
  5. Combine Everything: Drizzle the prepared sauce over the mixture. Toss to coat for about a minute.
  6. Serve: Transfer onto plates, top with sesame seeds and extra sriracha. Serve warm.

Notes

Use fresh ginger and garlic for better flavor. Don’t overcook vegetables for better texture.
