- 3/4 lb ground beef
- 1/2 head cabbage (shredded)
- 2 carrots (shredded or thinly sliced)
- 3 green onions (sliced)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1.5 tbsp ginger (freshly grated)
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp sriracha (plus extra for garnish)
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- 1/2 tbsp cooking oil (grapeseed or vegetable)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
- Pinch salt (to taste)
- Pinch pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, sesame oil, sriracha, brown sugar, and rice vinegar. Stir until blended and set aside.
- Cook the Ground Beef: Preheat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add cooking oil and heat. Add the ground beef and break apart gently. Cook for 2-3 minutes until browned.
- Add Aromatics: Stir in minced garlic and ginger. Cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add Vegetables: Toss in shredded cabbage and carrots. Stir and cook for 3-4 minutes until the cabbage wilts.
- Combine Everything: Drizzle the prepared sauce over the mixture. Toss to coat for about a minute.
- Serve: Transfer onto plates, top with sesame seeds and extra sriracha. Serve warm.
Notes
Use fresh ginger and garlic for better flavor. Don’t overcook vegetables for better texture.
